Michel Maroy has been a European public affairs consultant since 1987 for British and international consultants Gjw Government relations (group Shandwick) and Interel before joining 2m public affairs 


He had various experiences in the field of merger control, food safety legislation and the environment. He has participated in lobbying efforts – to establish new EU banana trade regulations, to secure the approval of a food additives directive, and for sustainable development before the Gothenburg summit on behalf of a large NGO. He is currently a consultant on European affairs for a major Japanese player in the food and fine chemical business, a European wide retail group (Lobbying), and for various other interests. 


Prior to the above, Michel managed a press agency specialised on EU matters (publishing Telex development,Telex Africa , La letre Européenne ) after starting his career as political and legal adviser to two Belgian ministers and the EPP (European Peoples’ Party).


He also gives training sessions on EU institutions and European public affairs. He holds conferences on the EU institutions and on the Lisbon Treaty within the European Commission visit service.


Michel brings his experience of the EU decision-making system, clear political analysis and professional communication with various audiences: Officials, Meps, and Journalists.  


Michel graduated in law from Louvain University.  He was admitted to the Brussels bar after his graduation
